Works have now completed on the new Student Accommodation development for UCC at the Crow’s Nest site which is located at the junction of Victoria Cross and Carrigrohane Road.
The development comprises a floor area of c.8,700m2 Student Accommodation (255 ensuite bedrooms in 66 apartments), a Health & Wellness Centre and a café. It was designed by award-winning McCullough Mulvin Architects and built by Sisk for UCC. All 255 bedrooms in the four-block development are already booked out for the upcoming academic year 2023 – 2024.
At the official opening, Mark Poland, Director of Building & Estates at UCC added: “We are pleased to officially open the Crow’s Nest student accommodation today on a site that had remained vacant and derelict for over a decade prior to UCC’s acquisition.
“This will breathe new life into this area of the city, and I want to thank all the team and local authorities for their work and support for a beautiful addition to the streetscape of Cork city.”
