November 2022 – New Appointment – Riverbank Arts Centre

BMP2022 News

Brendan Merry & Partners were delighted to be appointed as part of a multi-disciplinary design team for the re-development of the existing Riverbank Arts Centre at Newbridge, Co. Kildare.

Riverbank Arts Centre is a vibrant multi-disciplinary arts centre made up of a 180-seat venue, a digital cinema facility, a visual art gallery and a small dedicated children’s gallery space. Riverbank Arts Centre is committed to a policy of inclusion and access for all. This is displayed through their wide-reaching arts programme and community-based programme tailored for adults, families, schools and community groups.

This project aims to bring the existing facility up to the highest standards, allow the building to meet current regulations and afford all members of the community an opportunity to comfortably access the Centre and engage in its activities. Physical access into and throughout the building will be of the highest standards and will be informed by Riverbank Arts Centre’s ongoing engagement with, and learning from disability sectors both statutory and voluntary.

The proposal aims to completely redevelop the existing Theatre, increase capacity and also make provision to cater for a wider and diverse programme of events to be scheduled in future.

Brendan Merry & Partners were initially involved with this project back in 2017 preparing an outline Cost Estimate for the initial design by Studio Red Architects.

We are very excited to be appointed for the project again and work with Studio Red Architects and their team to try and realise this ambitious project and make it a reality.
