Brendan Merry & Partners are proud to be providing full Quantity Surveying Services for the proposed refurbishment of St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, one of Dublin’s most iconic and historically significant places of worship.

Planning has been granted for the conservation works which will enhance this protected structure to bring the Pro-Cathedral up to full Cathedral Status, with plans to:

• Reconfigure and restore the sanctuary and internal spaces including provision of a new welcoming glazed entrance lobby
• Restore decorative mosaic flooring; replace plain mosaic with stone
• Improve accessibility with a new retractable platform lift
• Refurbish key ecclesiastical furnishings and construct new glazed sacred heart chapel areas
• Carefully demolish outdated extensions
• Provide new rooms internally on the upper levels to support the Choirs, Staff and Clergy

We’re delighted to be involved in this transformative project, which not only preserves architectural heritage but also strengthens the cathedral’s role as a spiritual and community hub in the heart of the city.
