BMP is pleased to announce the completion and opening of the new primary school building at the Mercy Convent in Naas, welcoming students for the 2025-26 school year.
The project, which commenced on site in 2017, delivers a first-class educational facility with a new three-storey building spanning 5,180 square metres. The development features 32 classrooms, a PE hall, library, resource rooms and a multi-sport layout with a 3G astro surface playground and running track. Each classroom has been fitted with the most up-to-date IT equipment, including interactive whiteboards.
Despite delays and contract disputes over the eight-year construction period, BMP provided quantity surveying services throughout, working alongside main contractor Carroll O’Keefe & Co. Ltd. and Wejchert Architects to bring the project to successful completion.
The building was officially opened by Minister for Education and Youth Helen McEntee in October 2025. Speaking at the opening, the Minister highlighted the significance of the new facility: “The new development, with bright, modern classrooms, new learning spaces, a sensory room, two autism classes and communal spaces, represent more than just learning spaces. They represent opportunity, and investment into the future of every young person who will learn, grow and thrive here for generations to come.”
The school now serves over 600 students daily under the leadership of Principal Cathal Ruane and his dedicated team.
