]Brendan Merry & Partners were delighted to be appointed as part of a very experience multi-disciplinary design team for the refurbishment of Portumna Courthouse on behalf of Galway County Council.
The historic courthouse is to be refurbished as an Exhibition and Event space with ancillary spaces to include offices, a café, and all associated site works. It will include the redesign of the internal spaces and external renovations to repurpose the building as a multipurpose arts, performance, remote working and social space. The building has pride of place on the main street of the Town Clonfert Avenue, it is a very attractive example of a mid-nineteenth century civic building. It has however, due to neglect over the years fallen into a state of disrepair and is desperately in need of redevelopment.
Brendan Merry & Partners are delighted to be working with Ronan O’Connor (OC + C Architects) O’Connor Sutton Cronin Engineers and JV Tierney Services Consultants.
