Brendan Merry & Partners are delighted to report the completion of the New Bone Marrow Intensive Care Unit Extension at St. James’s Hospital at the end of May. The new single storey infill extension was built in a very confined space and required careful planning and logistics to integrate and link with the existing hospital. The project includes four new ICU’s with protected airlock lobby’s and full en-suite care facilities.
The rooms include the latest Synergy Medical Bedhead Units providing the best of equipment and patient care. The work also included upgrading of the adjoining nurse’s stations linked to the Unit and upgrading sub-boards for electrical services. The Main Contractor on the project was Clancy Construction.
The Design Team included Eoin Condon Architect, Garland Consulting Engineers and Marson Consulting Services Engineers. All under the direction of Niall McElwee, Director of Capital Projects & Estates at St. James’s Hospital. Brendan Merry & Partners assisted with the Project Management on the project and provided full Quantity Surveying Services. We wish the clinical team and staff at St. James’s Hospital every success in their new facility.
