Brendan Merry & Partners have for many years carried out internal services for a very select list of Tier 1 Main Contractors which can consist of measuring elements as part of their overall bid for Design and Build projects where a limited or no bill of quantities has been provided.

The types of projects have varied over the years from: –

• Refurbishment & Restoration of Existing Building/Protected Structures
• New Office Buildings/Student Accommodation/Residential Developments
• Data Centres and their associated external works
• Pharmaceutical Buildings

The information available can differ very much from project to project. In some circumstances, the project may be negotiated and there are several milestones to reach which have budgetary sign offs such as reaching 60% of design information and then reaching 80% and ultimately reaching 100% design information.

BMP work with our main contractors and dovetail into their different requirements as some will seek out direct packages for various specialist areas such as services, facades, groundworks etc.

We also use our ability to accurately measure external works and groundworks via Mudshark which can give valuable insights to both the Main Contractor and their own Structural/Civil Consultants that they engage with as part of design and build projects.
